Tuesday Peach Buzz:

Well-tressed look brings fame

Brooke Shields, Kim Basinger, Jaclyn Smith.

You know what they have in common? They were all Breck Girls.

And Breck is back. At the end of 2002, The Himmel Group resuscitated the brand that peaked in the '70s and then disappeared from shelves a few years ago.

There's at least one Breck Girl among us in metro Atlanta: Zacki Murphy was a Breck Girl in the late '60s.

"I was pretty much fresh out of UNC, as I still had dark long hair with a flip," Murphy said. "I was inducted in The Breck Girl Hall of Fame July 6th, 1992, where my portrait hangs with many other model friends.

"My hair well served me and of any other physical attributes was the biggest economic resource."

Murphy, a former Ford model, is now an image consultant, which means she helps people make the most of what they've got, and is “Ms. Manners of Atlanta,” working with children and adults on etiquette. www.zackimurphy.com.

The Breck Girl boasts her own exhibit in the Smithsonian.
